monica, carryn & i saw a reunited american music club at the north star last tuesday. will johnson from centro-matic opened and was very good. i’ve been listening to american music club for over ten years and it’s still some of the most beautiful, moving and honest music i’ve ever heard in my life. highlights included ‘i’ve been a mess’, ‘why won’t you stay’ and ‘patriot’s heart’ from the new record. if you have a chance to catch them on this tour i can’t recommend it enough.

our friends aaron and beth delarosa are starting their own label called our friend the atom. soon they’ll be re-releasing a slew of material from clark, the new invisibles, housemother dunbar, contact by garvey and others as well as new material from cold blue stars and truckee. the first release is clark’s ‘chicken and cashews’ and the party is in early december. i’m so excited!

a drummerless apple of discord got together at matt’s house to fool around with some new song ideas. with any luck we can start rehearsals with brian by the end of the month. afterwards i wanted to check out matt’s copy of halo 2 and he and nolan surprised me by giving me my OWN copy as an early birthday present. i have the best friends in the world.
