rehearsal this week was gross. when we got in there it was humid and stank from the body heat of the band before us. they must have really been rocking out. and much to our disgust, someone left a dirty sock on the floor. maybe next week we’ll find the foot that it belongs to. next month we have a cool show at club 218 with two other bands so far, mini band and carson’s machine. hopefully grand fabric will make it four. we also have a couple of other shows next month that i’ll post when i get more info. all i have to say is, ‘apple of disco dracula’.

tonight’s lineup went head to head against nature …

Thursday, September 18th, 2003

tonight’s lineup went head to head against nature but we were no match for hurricane tropical storm isabel. got to the owl’s cove late and saw mini band playing to four people. our reaction was like, ‘why’s mini band playing? are we in the right place?’ then someone pointed out to me that shelly from mini band is the same shelly that books the innovent shows. hah, who knew. motor and the teeth weren’t coming so the mini band kids were just jamming out while we turned around and went home to play some xbox. hopefully we can reschedule this semester, we’ll see.

personally, i think the weather cancellation was a smokescreen and the reality of the situation was that the other bands heard the new song we’ve been putting together in practice over the past few weeks and wussed out in fear of being rocked off the stage. the title is ‘my name is my passport’ and features a main part in a slow 14/16 (actually it’s 4/4 then 6/8). matt and i start off with these call and response parts that end up alternating due to the time signature. let’s hear it for half-assed math rock! or is it half-math ass rock? you decide.
