sorry, but the plain parade show at doc watson’s scheduled for may 15 has been cancelled. hopefully we can make up the date in the next couple of months. so next tuesday’s jazz odyssey set at the khyber isn’t going to be low-key at all; come on down.

finished the demos last week. you can check them out by clicking the ‘download music’ link above. hopefully you’ll like them. either way, please take a few seconds to leave some feedback in the shoutbox below or in our forum. we plan on having the next album recorded by the end of may and then we’ll see what happens. we also have some cool shows coming up. the jazz odyssey plays a low-key set next tuesday at the khyber. then the rock show returns to philadelphia for a plain parade show on may 15 at doc watson’s.

other shows of interest: the silence kit plays tonight at doc watson’s, elocine plays a solo set at malokai’s on may 8 and eye wish eye and i dreamed of pompeii are playing an all-ages show in havertown on may 10. nelson and i got to check out idop at the 1619 house over the weekend and it was reeeal good. check them out as soon as you can.

finishing vocals on the other two demos tonight. they should be posted sometime next week. man, i really need to finish these lyrics. we’re gonna work on these songs some more and put them together for what’s going to be the next apple of discord record. it’s probably going to be called ‘revenge + regret’ or something equally pretentious and totally lacking subtlety.

check out the interview i did with chloe b. from thebreakupday.com. it was late - and judging by the quality of my responses, i was pretty tired. but all in all, it was a good time.

started recording last night. we ran through a couple takes of ‘what the first cro-magnon said to the last neanderthal’ and it’s sounding surprisingly decent. nelson only went for two mcgristle sandwiches last night. as encouraging and exciting as the new songs are going, we’re not going to finish them in time for the upcoming three hot chicks compilation. we’ll have to send in a previously released song - go to the forum and help pick what song it’s going to be.

this comp is going to be pretty sweet with bands like metroplex, kitty kat dirt nap, i dreamed of pompeii, late night desperate, zolof the rock and roll destroyer, easy like sunday, revenge of the english student, 5 days ahead, calm in sight, williams eve, the tiddies, capitol air, westgate, graze & jove. there’ll be release parties come may.

what a ridiculously late evening, thank you daylight savings time! we went on last at the show last night for pam from three hot chicks‘ birthday. we debuted the apple of discord jazz odyssey set. the lineup was me, nelson, matt on bass and our good friend jeff fields (x-resignation) on guitar. they built a new stage there, which was a vast improvement from playing in the little alcove. i think the songs came out pretty well. the sound was pretty spotty; onstage it was just bouncing off of the mirrors but i think it was better than the last time we were there. thanks to robyn, steph and pam and malokai’s for having us!

we’re going to be recording demos of the new songs at matt’s house this week. hmmm, i should finish writing lyrics for them. wish us luck.
